Game – Cell Phone Picture Challenge
Chances are, most of your teens have a cell phone with a camera. Here is a great game to take advantage of that fact, and get your teens moving.
Materials
One cell phone camera per team
A laptop attached to a TV or Projector (must be connected to internet)
Divide your group into teams of 3-5. Make sure each group has a camera phone. Give them a certain amount of time (no more than 5 minutes) to find a unique spot to take a picture. Each team must have at least one team member in the picture. Once they take the picture, they return to the main area and text the picture to your email (if you don’t know how to do that, just google it). As the pictures start rolling in, put them in a Powerpoint slide. Assign each of the pictures to a different team.
Now starts the competition. Project the pictures on the screen, and each team must race to find the place that they were assigned. They need to take an identical picture with a team member. The first one to send a picture wins. Each team can continue to look for their picture, as long as they don’t take too long (you will likely have at least one team that won’t find it).
This is a really fun game that your kids will enjoy, mainly because they actually get to use their cell phones at youth group! It requires a little work by you (or your tech guru) to make sure it runs smoothly, but once it gets going it will be a lot of fun.
